Carlos Mendoza and Hao-Yu Lee led the mud straps to a 20 run; Thayron Liranzo Homer for Erie again

Toledo Mud Hens 20, Scranton-Wilkes/Barres Railriders 7 (Box)

Carlos Mendoza and Hao-Yu Lee were the way when the sludge rabbits blow the Railriders on Thursday to put a 2-1 series in the lead.

Things started with a bang when Carlos Mendoza started his first triple-a Homerun with an out in the first inn. Hao-Yu Lee and Bligh Madris went, and Jahmai Jones followed with a shot of three runs to the midfield for a short 4-0 lead.

PJ Poulin allowed two runs in the bottom of the first when the chickens were in Bullpen Day mode, but the crime came back to get more. Riley Unroe went with an out of the second and after Jake Rogers Mendoza hit again with a Homer with two runs. Lee doubled and Madris went again and chased the starter Erick Leal, but Andrew Navigato followed with an RBI single and Jones and Manuel Margot to push through another run. 8-2 chickens.

In the third double Rogers, who looked ready to return to the Detroit Tigers, to the left and with two goals on a lee triple to the left. Austin Bergner took over in the third and allowed two runs, but the Hens offensive was loosening.

At the top of the fifth, Ryan Kreidler was hit by a field to open the inning. Unroe started, but Rogers and Mendoza went to load the bases, and Lee hit the middle to achieve two more runs. Madris went for the third time and a Navigato single scored Mendoza and Lee. At that time it was 13-4.

Bergner allowed three other runs in the fifth for a hard triple-a debut, but the Bullpen was under control. Chase Lee, Bailey Horn, Ryan Miller and Matt Gage each turned a goalless inning, with Horn three to run the way.

At this point, the crime finally calmed down something. The right -handed Clayton Beeter, whom I liked very well on the day of the draft, acted seventh place for the Railriders and allowed Navigato a triple, but already had two strikes under the belt and climbed out of the inning unscathed.

The chickens finally broke out in the top of the ninth and broke out completely to bury the rail ridals. They collected eight singles and a double in the inning and dropped another seven runs on them to reach 20 runs.

The next striker was Pacheco, and he stayed hot with a solo shot on the right field for a 7-2 lead.

Unfortunately, Brett Callahan was injured to transform a single into a double later in the inning and had to leave the game.

Miller allowed a shot of three runs in the third and then in the fifth, a wild playing field, and then a passed ball helped the tincaps for a three-run in when they took over an 8: 7 lead.

Marco Jimenez allowed a solo shot in the seventh, and that was great for Fort Wayne. At the top of eighth place, Penney brought in Bastidas to pull the whitecaps inside one, but that was as close as they would.
