Buddy Hield, Warriors is hard because Rockets' young people are neglected

The heart of an NBA champion is difficult to stop.

The high-quality Houston Rockets learned at the start that in game 7 of their first Western Conference series against the seventh Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors defeated the Rockets 103-89 in game 7 and became the ninth team in the last five playoffs to win game 7 on the street. They come to a conference semi-final against the sixth Minnesota Timberwolves. Game 1 is Tuesday (9.30 p.m. ET, TNT).

Buddy Hield scored 33 points with playoff career opportunities and Steph Curry added 22 points for the Warriors who also avoided becoming the 14th team that has a 3-1 lead and lost a series.

After 3: 1 in the series against the Warriors forced the Rockets game 7-only to lose the final at home against a franchise that was still adhering to championship struts after winning titles in 2015, 2017, 2017 and 2022.

A fifth title in 2025 is still a possibility for Golden State.

Buddy Hield leads warrior

Buddy Hield was the star of game 7. Not curry. Not draymond green. Not Jimmy Butler.

Hield scored 22 of his 33 points in the first half of the year when Curry had to deal with only three points in the first and second quarter. HILD converted 12-of-15 shots, including 9-of-11-3 pointers, which gangs a record of game 7 for Made 3S.

“It was really incredible when he illuminated it in the first half and also in the track,” said Warriors coach Steve Kerr.

Hield also had three rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal.

The stars of Warriors difficult to eliminate

The Warriors have now been 27-10, including playoffs, since he won Butler at the end of the trade.

Kerr used to go to his bank and although he only got three points out of his reserves, Jonathan Kuminga, Kevon Looney and Moses Moody delivered valuable minutes. Kerr also brought his team to protect basketball. The Warriors have only celebrated seven sales.

This is the type of basketball that gives the Warriors the opportunity to beat the Timberwolves and reach the conference final.

Growth of rockets is not yet there

It was a fantastic season for the Rockets – 52 victories and the number 2 seeds. But they are not ready to fight a western conference title. They have a great young core with several players 23 or younger, including Alperen Sengun (21 points, 14 rebounds) and Amen Thompson (24 points, nine rebounds, three assists).

Young teams often go through a learning process when they switch from the reconstruction team to the playoff team. It is not unusual and the rockets did not get a light seed No. 7.

It will be interesting to see what changes the rockets in the off -season to improve. Fred Vanvleet had another valuable season, but the last year of his business in 2025-26 at $ 44.8 million is a team option.

Rockets’ Jalen Green fights in his first playoff appearance

Jalen Green had a fantastic regular season with an average of 21.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists. But in the playoffs he was at 13.3 points per game and 37.2% from the field and 29.5% to 3S and that includes an output of 38 points in game 2. It had seven, nine, eight and eight points in games 1, 3 and 7.

He is only 23 years old, so there is room for growth. He is not the first player to fight in his first playoff series, but the Rockets have to work with him so that he is better next time.

Timberwolves against Warriors in the second round

Golden State and Minnesota are not typical seven and six seeds, and this semi -finals -Matchup is more of a conference final series.

It will be competitive and should be an entertaining series with all the Star Power and Coaching Acumen. Although Kerr is the bigger name, Timberwolves coach Chris Finch is an outstanding strategist, especially in a series with seven games.

Golden State won the season 3-1 and all four games were played before the Warriors Butler acquired on February 6th on February 6th.
