“State Utility Pln managed to restore most of the power supply in Bali,” said spokesman for President Prabowo Subianto, Prasetyo Hadi, in a statement on Friday.

“God wants, connection in Bali will be completely restored this evening (Friday evening),” he said.

Pln priorified the restoration of electricity to important infrastructure such as government offices, hospitals, airport and hotels, said Hadi.

The failure was caused by disorders in the underwater cables that connect the electricity system in Bali with Java Island and trigger power outages in several areas in Bali.

According to the island’s statistics office, Bali, the main tourist center in Indonesia, had 6.3 million foreign visitors last year.
