Baltimore man charged with murder in Eastern District shooting

BALTIMORE — A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this month that left one person dead and another injured in the city’s East Ward, police said Thursday.

The suspect, Dakwane Cole of Baltimore, was arrested Nov. 25 in the 1800 block of North Montford Avenue, the same location where the Nov. 6 shooting occurred. He was charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

Officers originally responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the area around 10:43 a.m. on Nov. 6 and found two victims with gunshot wounds. 30-year-old Bianca Nelson died from her injuries, while a 31-year-old male victim survived being transported to a local hospital.

Investigators allege Cole shot both victims during the incident. Details of the circumstances leading up to the shooting were not released.

Authorities encourage anyone with additional information about the case to contact Crime Stoppers at 410-396-2100 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7Lockup.
