Bad fans all complain about the trailer that is shown shortly before the film starts – TV & Film

Evil Fans are distracted by a trailer that plays before the film begins, in which a celebrity makes a bizarre appearance.

That’s safe to say Evil has many unexpected twists and turns that were not present in the original Broadway musical.

Both Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have noted that there are “Easter eggs” running through the film that eagle-eyed fans should keep an eye out for.

But fans are taking issue with a trailer that plays before the film opens in theaters, so they’re all thinking the same thing.

Before the highly anticipated musical begins, there’s a trailer for the new Robbie Williams biopic Better man plays – but it’s no ordinary portrayal of the singer.

Fan confusion is rife following the decision to play Williams by Jonno Davies, who is portrayed as a CGI monkey.

Yes, you read that correctly.

It was director Michael Gracey’s idea to portray the star as a monkey, albeit a rather unusual one.

However, it causes some real confusion for those who will see it Evil.

Several monkeys appear throughout the film – although they are winged, since this is Oz after all.

But having just seen Williams as a monkey, it’s safe to say viewers are distracted.

One person said: “The first time you see a monkey in the movie, my wife and I both looked at each other and said at the same time, ‘That’s Robbie Williams’.”

Another said: “My first thoughts during that scene were, ‘I didn’t know they cast Robbie Williams in Wicked.’

A third added: “Yes, yes, yes! I thought ‘poor Robbie’ when the wings came out.”

Robbie discussed the unusual choice while chatting to Metro at the film’s European premiere.

He said, “I didn’t know I would have to explain it, but obviously (I do)!”

“It’s unusual, isn’t it? That’s the thing.”

The singer added: “I’m on the spectrum, so things that are unusual for me aren’t that unusual – I don’t pick up on cues like that.”

“By the way, I don’t know where I am on the spectrum, I just know that I am.”

He turned to fans and said: “It’s a monkey, get over it.”

The star even admitted that it “works better” than if it were him, which, again, is a bit of an odd take.

Speaking about the film on The One Show, he added: “I don’t know if this film would have caused as much of a stir if the monkey hadn’t been in it.”

“And it does, and it has. And it all makes sense when you see it.”
