Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) has once again made personnel changes to its smart driving team following the company’s strong push toward end-to-end solutions, a report from local media outlet 36kr said yesterday.

According to the report, the company has appointed Xia Zhongpu as the head of end-to-end technology deployment, reporting directly to the head of intelligent driving Lang Xianpeng.

This is an organizational restructuring for long-term technology pre-production after Li Auto’s end-to-end technology development reached milestones, the report said, citing a person familiar with the matter.

The behavioral intelligence department led by Xia was upgraded from a second-level department to a first-level department in Li Auto’s smart driving team, the report said.

Xia was previously a member of Baidu’s autonomous driving team, where he was responsible for the technical leadership of merging the planning and control of the intelligent driving system with AI neural networks, which is one of the biggest challenges in realizing an end-to-end system. Final solution, the report says.

Since joining Li Auto, Xia has been responsible for end-to-end AI modeling and saw his rank rise rapidly from level 19 to level 21 in two years, according to the report.

According to 36kr, Li Auto continues to rely on next-generation end-to-end solutions as well as L4 autonomous driving technology.

As technology advances and computing power increases, L4-level unattended autonomous driving will be realized within three years, Li Xiang, founder, chairman and CEO of Li Auto, said.

Li Auto announced yesterday that it is rolling out the latest software update for AD Max models, enabling intelligent driving from parking lot to parking lot.

The company today announced the launch of a 3-year 0 percent interest financing incentive for car purchases, becoming the first local automaker to respond after Tesla began offering a limited-time discount on the Model Y on November 25.
