Bengaluru: A special investigation team of Karnataka Police has arrested Kannur native Aarav, the main suspect in the murder of Assam-based vlogger Maya Gogoi. He was reportedly arrested in a northern Indian city and will be taken to Bengaluru on Friday evening.

Gogoi (19) was found stabbed to death in an official residence in Indira Nagar on November 26. Suspicion fell on Aarav when he went missing after the incident came to light.

The SIT conducted extensive searches, including in Kannur, to arrest the suspect. During the investigation, the team collected CCTV footage of Aarav’s arrival at Majestic railway station.

The Bengaluru police had said that the suspect was staying at the official residence with Gogoi for the last three days. CCTV footage from the apartment showed the woman and the suspect arriving together on November 23.

Citing initial investigations, a senior police official said the suspect allegedly stayed at the apartment for a whole day after the murder.
