‘A amazing journey’: Miramar High Science teacher flies in Blue Angels’ Fa -18 Super Hornet – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sport

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (WSVN) – A teacher in Südflorida -Natural Sciences rose beyond the classroom after receiving a high honor from the school district

Richard Lamarre was appointed Broward County Public School’s teacher of the year in 2025 and the US Navy Blue Angels gave him a serious elevator on Wednesday.

“Richard is nominated here from the community, they know. They mention the teachers of the year, those, someone who clearly makes a difference,” said the US Navy Maj. Scott Laux.

As part of the most important influencer program of the Blue Angels, Lamarre had to experience a 45-minute drive over Fort Lauderdale on the back seat of a naval flight: a FA-18 Super Hornet.

“It’s so cool,” said Lamarre in the cockpit.

The Super Hornet flies incredibly quickly and delivers a sky -high excursion that Lamarre will not soon forget.

“It was an astonishing journey, didn’t even pass out. Crazy curves and grinding and strength around you everywhere, but with the right techniques you can simply enjoy the journey,” said Lamarre. “It was a breath of fresh air. It was simply an amazing, unique experience.”

Lamarre undertook the trip on an adrenaline -driven trip, filled with will, rolls, grinding and curves. An air outer railway ride if you like.

“I don’t want to ride on a roller coaster. I want to ride this guy again,” he said.

Lamarre has been teaching science in Miramar High as a teacher of natural sciences.

He said he was inspired by Nelson Manuela’s conviction that education is an instrument for changes. He brings this belief to his classroom and hopes to ignite the passion of the students for science.

According to this experience, he has another lesson for his students.

“Everything is possible. No matter how difficult life will be, there is beauty around you,” said Lamarre. “Just switch on and enjoy the trip. Try to find something to draw your attention to have more passion in life.”
