The 101-year record that we could break on Sunday | Statistics | News

We go to our last Premier League game of the 2024/25 season with apparently little to play that the second-placed spot is only secured, but we could create a piece of English football history with a victory in Southampton.

We have a proud record of seasons with a flourishing and have won at a high in recent years by winning our final – so that we have all won our last 13 such games.

And if this extends to St. Mary on Sunday to 14, we will break the record for the successive top top top season season, which has stood for 101 years.

We are currently at the top with Liverpool, who won all of her last encounters from 1908 to 1924, but our victory over her Merseyside-rival Everton 12 months ago corresponded to us. However, we are now about to set up a new one after we started this run with a 3-2 victory at West Bromwich Albion 2012.

2016/17 2021/22 Liverpool 6
2016/17 2021/22 Mannstadt 6

You have to return to 2005 for the last time when we cost the summer break to our last league game in Birmingham City. This means that we currently have an unbeaten series of 19 games on the last day, and only the same Liverpool team of this time can have a longer run in English history.

In order to bring our current exploits into the right perspective, you have to return to our former best in the Edwardian period, which was only seven between 1903 and 1909.

We are also over the tree when it comes to the history of the Premier League. Since the competition was created, the previous best was a six run that Manchester City and Liverpool both ended in 2022, but we smashed it. In the meantime, no club has achieved more victories of the end since its foundation in 1992 than we ourselves.

In the meantime, it is no surprise that Thierry Henry can be seen on the stack when it comes to our deadliest Final Day finishers.

In the last game of the league season, our record goal scorer scored seven of his 228 goals to comfortably sit in front of his next competitors, supported by his famous hat trick against Wigan Athletic when we said goodbye to Highbury in Highbury in 2006 and started our current 19-game strips. Only Harry Kane, Andy Cole, Les Ferdinand and Matthew Le Tissier scored more goals of the Last Day in the history of the division than our legendary Frenchman.
