Sean Murphy has again completed Raw Deal with Braves

Sean Murphy was again concluded with the braves. Last year it was a weird burden, a fighting crime and Travis d’Arnaud. This year it’s Drake Baldwin.

When the Club William Contreras and several other prospects against Sean Murphy initially exchanged, he pushed with skepticism. After all, Wild Bill had turned out to be one of the most dreaded backstops in the game, even if he had something to be desired behind the plate.

Murphy pressed all concerns. The veteran baking stop put an all-star campaign with the good in its first season and ended with a 127 ops+, which corresponds to his last season in Oakland. Then, in 2024, Murphy sought his sloping penalty on the opening day.

Murphy sat on the shelf for two months before returning. As soon as he did, he tried to find rhythm because Brian Snitker had no choice but to play Travis d’Arnaud. After all, he was more productive with the bat, and the offense needed everything.

It culminated in Murphy, who only played 72 games and released a 76 ops+, which was up to this point 32% lower than his career average. Many Braves fans were ready to send it from Atlanta, but it was only an unfortunate situation in 2024.

2025 is not too nice either. It started when Murphy was put together with a fast ball in spring training and a rib cracked. It poured even more petrol on the fire, but the difference between this season and the last is Sean Murphy’s production.

The all-star banged seven homes and gave him an OPS of 0.839 and he plays the Gold Glove defense and gives Atlantas Pitching employees more than just any other backstop. Unfortunately, Drake Baldwin was even better with the stick.

Including the performance on Thursday, Baldwin lowers a ridiculous .360/.407/.573. This is good for a 171 ops+that forces the Snitker’s hand again.

Baldwin’s performance quickly turns things into a 50/50 split. The Braves Skipper said: “He will juggle the catchers from series to series, based on matchups that are hot, etc.”

Many expected Sean Murphy to collect 100-115 games behind the plate, and he did nothing less to earn a little less. He has a 136 ops+for the kindness, but Drake Baldwin cannot simply sit on the bench with an ops of 0.981.

It’s a good problem and a luxury -brave fans should recognize, but we can all recognize that Murphy has dealt with another raw business.
