Five-star college basketball recruit takes a step on Duke

Sarr is a 6-foot 7 guard from Italy and attracts considerable attention from several top animal programs. His shortlist contains the Oregon Ducks, Kansas Jayhawks and now Duke.

On May 7th he made an official visit to Kansas, where he met with head coach Bill Self. Sarr also received an offer from Illinois on January 19.

Sarr made FC Barcelona squad for the 2024-25 season and delivered an outbreak performance in March, scored 21 points and added 3 templates.

However, his stay with the team ended in April after decided without the approval of the club at the Nike Hoop Summit. Barcelona viewed it as a violation of his contractual obligations, which led to his departure.

Despite the setback, Sarr’s share continues to rise. He represented Italy in numerous international youth competitions, including the 2024 U18 Eurobasket.

With the departures from Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, Tyrese Proctor and Khaman Maluach, Duke has significant openings in his starting line -up. The projected starters for 2025-26 include Caleb Foster, Isaiah Evans, Cameron Boozer and Patrick Ngongba II.

If Sarr has committed to Duke, he is expected to compete for a starting place immediately and help to consolidate the strong roster of the Blue Devils.
