Caitlin Clark had an eventful start to the season on Saturday, which claimed the third triple double of her WNBA career and received an open foul for a push on the long-term rival Angel Reese when the Indiana Fever headed the Chicago Sky 93-58.

With 4:38 in the third quarter and the fever of 56: 42, Reese demanded an offensive rebound and drove towards the basket when Clark put on hard contact with her right arm, knocked the sky forward and left the ball away.

Reese, clearly annoyed, returned directly to the feet and tried to face the Rookie of the Year 2024, who went to Reese with her back, while Aliyah Boston stepped between the two. Clarks foul was improved by a personal to a flagrant 1, while Reese and Boston received technical fouls.

Caitlin Clark was exhibited an open foul for the thrust in the third quarter.
Angel Reese was visibly dissatisfied with Caitlin Clark after the incident.

“Let’s not do anything that it is not,” said Clark afterwards. “It was just a good game in basketball. I am not sure what the referee saw to improve it. This is until your discretion after seeing the starting system, whatever happened during the game and what happened afterwards.”

“It is a foul to put it on the free -wing line,” she added. “I didn’t try to do something malignant. It’s not the kind of player I am.”

Clark had the support of her new head coach Stephanie White, who begins her second term in the role in 2016.

“Nobody will easily get anything against us,” said White. “We will be a hard defensive team. I thought it was also a clear game on the ball.”

Reese did not want to be drawn to the incident.

“Basketball game. RefS did it right. Keep going,” she said in her press conference after the game before a team spokesman who said Reese had already addressed the problem.

The much documented rivalry of the couple began when Reese’s LSU Clarks Iowa defeated the National Championship 2022-23 and continued when Clark won the resolution in 2024 in front of a television audience of 12.3 million.

Last year they faced four times in their WNBA debutaisons, with the fever three won. Clark was voted the rookie of the year with everyone to one of the 67 votes, with the other vote on Reese.

Both players have put down the rivalry, but their fan communities are often loud in their aversion to the opposing player.

Caitlin Clark had the third triple double of her WNBA career.

Clark’s high of the game of 20 points, together with her 10 rebounds and 10 assists, was the third triple double of her professional career after she was 17 years old in Iowa. She also added four blocks into a career.

Boston added 19 points and 13 rebounds for Indiana, while Reese cited the rating to Chicago with 12 points, 17 rebounds and one template.

The game also saw Dewanna Bonner, who had signed with the fever in the low season, scored seven points and exceeded her over Tina Thompson and third place in the WNBA leading goal scorer in the WNBA.

Only Tina Charles with 7,696 and former Phoenix Mercury teammate Diana Taurasi with 10,646 have more.

“I have become a bit emotional. At that moment, to be with a sold -out crowd with all this attention and just have this moment for me something very special,” said Bonner.

“Since I am nearby for so long, I have the feeling that I deserve this moment. And so that it happens in my career exactly then and there at this time … I’m just so grateful.”

After Clarks Foul via Reese, the sky transformed one of her free throws and Courtney Vandersloot made a layup to take Chicago from Indiana within 11.

But the fever returned with a 9-0 run, which means that they rose at 8 p.m. at the end of the third quarter. Her final 35-point Victory edge of the Victory corresponded to the second largest franchise history.
