Hot start of Braves Rookie could mean a surprising trade of the veteran catcher

In the last seasons, the Atlanta Braves had a nice train that they rolled with the entire season. Sean Murphy and Travis d’Arnaud spent time behind the plate, and it was a big reason why the Braves made the late season every season in which the two were together.

D’Arnaud is now at the Los Angeles Angels, which means that the Braves have a new backup catcher behind Murphy. This backup catcher is the 24-year-old Rookie Drake Baldwin and with the way he started his major League career, he won’t be much longer.

Due to its first 75 bats, Baldwin has an average value of 0.360 with 4 doubles, 4 home runs, 12 RBIs and an ops of 0.981. He has nine goals in his last 12 bats and played a major role in Atlanta after returning to a record of 0.500 after the beginning of season 0-7.

Baldwin is aware that the good ones have climbed from the 0: 7 hole they started in the season, and he spoke about what it meant to return to this 500 brand after a terrible start.

“Huge,” said Baldwin when he was asked about the meaning of 0.500. “Since this 0: 7 series, I think I know, I don’t know what the exact numbers are, but it seems that we have started to get started.

“We confronted some hard teams early, but back .500, we are right back. By Atlanta Braves on Si

Murphy was also not a slouch because he has seven homes and a team of 0.505 slugging percentage. The problem that Atlanta faces is to bring both bats into the line -up. Only one can catch and the certain hitter roll is filled by Marcell Ozuna.

An injury could certainly happen and make a way for both catchers in the everyday list, but this is not something that someone hopes for. It can be time to think about trading with Murphy before the trade closes when everyone stays healthy and Baldwin continues to produce.

If this goes in the direction in which the good go, they have catchers Jason Delay and Sandy Leon on the 40-man squad, which means that they could be brought to the Major League without having to clarify a squad. It will certainly not be an easy decision, but for General Manager Alex Anthopoulos, who was never afraid to score a big swing, it may be the one who is needed.
