Mariska Hargitay supports Star Friends when she shares bittersweet update with the late mother

It is a bitter sweet time for Mariska Hargitay, but still a “dream becomes true”.

This month the actress Law & Order: SVU will be premiered by her directorial debut, a documentary about her deceased mother Jayne Mansfield titled My mother Jayne, At the Film Festival 2025 Cannes.

In advance, she shared photos of memories of her mother, who died on social media in 1967, and the latest comes from the plane on the way to France.

Mariska went on Instagram on Wednesday and divided a heart-warming black and white photo, on which she appears on the plane with a gentle smile on the face, who is ready to go to Cannes.

“Everything on board a dream comes true …”, she wrote in her caption and added: “Bring my mom to the Cannes Film Festival.”

Fans and prominent friends then quickly went into the comment area under the contribution and rave about it, with her good friend Ali Wentworth wrote: “I’m with you!” Along a series of emojis from a red heart, as Katie Couric added: “So exciting! I can’t wait to see this true love of love” and Jessica Capshaw also wrote: “Yesssss !!!”

Others followed the example: “Just amazing! I can’t wait to see !!” And: “Proud doesn’t even start to cover it. But still extremely proud. We see her magic through you,” as well as: “Yay congratulations, Mariska! I know that your mother Jayne would be so incredibly proud of you.”

Mariska was born from the marriage of Old-Hollywood icon Jayne Mickey Hargitay, A Hungarian-American actor and the Mr. Universe from 1955. Before her early death at the age of 34, she was married three times and welcomed five children.

She married first Paul Mansfield 1950 and they had a daughter Jayne Marie Mansfield, 74, this year. Next Wed Mickey in 1958 and they had three children together: Mickey Hargitay Jr.66, then Zoltan64 and Mariska. After the divorce of Mickey in 1964, Jayne married Matt climberand greeted her fifth child, Tony climber, 59.

Jayne died in 1967 in a car accident in Biloxi, Mississippi. Her car, a 1966 Buick Electra 225, plunged head -on to the back of a tractor trailer at high speed and immediately killed her with her lawyer Sam Brody And your driver Ronnie Harrisonwho was 20 years old at the time. Mariska, Mickey Jr. and Zoltan were in the back of the car and confronted minor injuries.

During a performance on The Drew Barrymore Show LAst Year reflected on how it helped her to overcome part of her childhood trauma. When she noticed how “60 the new 50 is”, she first said: “I think when we get older, we enter our power, our focus on what is important and we get time and space back. I think the gift I have is clarity.”

The host Drew Barrymore then asked if she thinks “it is possible to get there at every younger point”, and Mariska said: “For me – and you know that we both have this very specific childhood with pain and trauma that came into our body – and for me as a young person, I spent my time to run from it.”
