Pilots are preparing to take the flight in front of Oregon International Air Show

Portland ore. (KPTV) – The Oregon International Air Show comes to Hillsboro this weekend and on May 15th several pilots landed in the preparation of the event in the base of the Portland Air National Guard.

“I promise you that this is nothing that you have seen before, the F-35 makes a great show, you won’t be upset when you appear,” said Maj. Melanie Kluesner.

The decades of pilot is part of the world-famous US Air Force F-35 Lightning II Demo team, a great draw for the three-day show case of this weekend.

“I pull nine g every time I do this demo,” said Kluesner. “A lot of noise, you can look forward to it. My favorite maneuver is the tactical pitch. That is what I do at the end of the show. It looks as if the jet is on a skateboard. There should be many afterburners and hopefully vapes with the way the weather looks like, and the wings of the jets, it will look great.”

The airport, which has been taking place from Hillsboro since 1988, has been contained a large number of military and civil aircraft since 1988, including members of the 142nd fighter aircraft, which is commissioned to protect the sky above the Pacific northwest.

“Maybe a face with the person who makes noise over your house from time to time,” said John Nacho Taylor, an officer on the base and pilot of the F-15 aircraft. “Super excited to get out in the local population, as we are defenders of the northwest,” said Taylor. “It will be great to interact with people we fly every day, and it’s always fun to fly with your friends and family.”

In addition to the entertainment of thousands in the local community, the proceeds from the Air Show to the financing of aerospace programs in the Hillsboro School District goes. An exciting opportunity to ignite a passion for aviation in the next generation.

“I think it is very important that people see these jets in action,” said Kluesner. “Super inspiring, you will see it this weekend, you will give you goose bumps. And I just want to pay it forward so that these children like me see a dream that they want to realize.”
