Jameer Nelson was reported to 76ers Assistant GM under Daryl Morey, Brand,

Former NBA star Jameer Nelson reports reportedly in the Philadelphia 76ers front office.

According to Shams Charania of ESPN, the Sixers Nelson promoted the deputy general manager under GM Elton Brand and team president Daryl Morey.

Nelson was a unique all-star about his 14-year-old NBA career, which included stints with the Orlando Magic, Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets, New Orleans Pelicans and Detroit Pistons. After completing his career as a player in 2018, the coming Pennsylvania quickly started a career as a manager and joined the Philadelphia organization in 2020 as an assistant to the GM of the G Liga subsidiary Delaware Blue Coats before being promoted to the team of the team in 2023.

Nelson’s doctorate with the Sixers adds to a group that is commissioned to find out the best way for the franchise after its massive disappointing season from 2024-25. Philadelphia joined the year with championship struts, but injuries and inconsistencies caused the team to miss the playoffs for the first time since 2016-17 with a 24-58 record.

The prospects are not completely dark for the Sixers, as they brought the number 3 selection in the NBA Draft Lottery on Monday. Jonathan Wassman from B/R predicted in his most recent bill that Philadelphia Baylor Wing would choose VJ Edgecompe with the third overall election, and added him to a core that is led by Center Joel Embiid, Point Guard Tyrese Maxey and striker Paul George.

Nelson and the rest of the Sixer Front Office will be motivated to improve the team in this low season in the hope of returning to the title competition in 2025-26.
