Karlyn Pickens repeats itself as a second pitcher of the year for Tennessee Softball

The Tennessee Softball Junior Karlyn Pickens is again the best pitcher in the Sec and etches its name among the sizes in the history of the conference.

Pickens won her second SEC pitcher of the year in a row in a row, the league announced on May 9. She became the fifth pitcher in the SEC history, which won the award in successive seasons, and she is the seventh in conference history to win the prize several times. Pickens was also included in the all-secret team.

Pickens and Tennessee Legend Monica Abbott are the only two players in the program history who win the award. Now Pickens has won several times like Abbott, who won it three times.

Pickens (20-8) led the SEC with an ERA of 0.92, which took second place in the nation. It has 231 strikes this season, which also leads the SEC with a big lead.

Born in Weaverville, North Carolina, has awarded an individual SEC Prize every season. She was the SEC newcomer of the year in 2023 before winning her first SEC pitcher of the year in 2024.

Pickens wrote history this season when she threw the fastest place against Arkansas against Arkansas on March 25, who broke Abbott’s world record of 77 miles per hour.

Tennessee won only a few championships this season in the regular season in a row in a row. The Lady Vols were still in the title race in the last series of the regular season, but lost the 2-1 series against Texas A&M and finished fourth with 15: 9 in Sec. Tennessee was eliminated in the quarter -finals of Arkansas from the SEC tournament.
