‘Longer period of the heavy rain comes across pa. This week

The weather forecast in Pennsylvania will require a lot of rain in the next few days.

Tom Kines, a meteorologist for Accuweather on State College, said that the current weather system “moves in a snail”, which will lead to a “longer rainy season” in our state.

“There are places that benefit from it and receive good weather,” said Kines. “Unfortunately we are not in Pennsylvania and throughout the northeast.”

It is expected that the precipitation will come in waves, said Kines, so that there will surely be spans without rain.

However, he noticed that “we see the rain, we have to worry that it will be difficult” and probably include some thunderstorms.

He estimated that almost the entire state will see rain in the next 48 hours between a quarter and half a customs of rain and that “some places will get two to three inches”.

“If you have outdoor plans, it won’t be a great week for it,” said Kines. “Not just locally, but throughout the northeast.”

The rain can come at a good time because parts of central Pennsylvania have suffered from drought due to a warm, dry autumn and winter in the past few months.

The dry conditions have contributed to forest fires in Cumberland County, which are recently largely included.

However, these heavy downpours can lead to floods in some areas, warned Kines – also in areas that were affected by drought.

“It will be difficult to determine the exact areas in the state that get the real heavy rain because many of these heavier showers and maybe even thunderstorms have really not been developed,” said Kines. “But yes, these places that were dry may be more susceptible to flood problems.”

While a wet week is almost guaranteed, things can inform the weekend in good time.

“I think a lot of people may look forward with Mother’s Day and all the stuff,” said Kines. “It looks like the weather improves over the weekend. So there is light at the end of the tunnel.”
