Although it is in early May, Saturday in the mid -1980s and July felt heights.

In the late afternoon, the atmosphere in front of a cold front and an area with low pressure becomes very unstable. In the atmosphere there may be enough buoyancy and speed scissors to support scattered storms, some of which could be serious.

The biggest threat is northwest of the city. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the Lehigh Valley, Poconos, Chester County, together with the counties Upper Bucks and Montgomery under one level 2 or “slightly” risk for storm. You can see that you are highlighted yellow on the map above.

Areas closer to the DelaWare River are under a steeper risk of level 1 or “Marginal” – including the city of Philadelphia, Delaware County, Lower Bucks and Montgomery Counties as well as Salem, Cumberland, Gloucester, Camden and Northwest Burlington Counties in New Jersey.

Not everyone will see a storm. The biggest chance of storms consists of the I-95 corridor North and West in all southeastern Pennsylvania, including Philly.

There is also a tornado risk northwest of the city. You can see that this card includes areas such as Chester County, Berks County, the Lehigh Valley and Upper Bucks and Montgomery Counties. While the risk is about 2%, they stay tuned because these storms develop if further warnings are issued.

Possible effects are isolated exhausted trees and power lines, travel delays in PHL and delays or a rain for the Phillies game. It was clear for first place in Citizens Bank Park, but the rainfall could move in the middle to late innerings.

Rain failure probably start of Broad Street Run

Run in the Broad Street Run? The weather looks a little better than a few days ago. The severe threat will end, but there will still be a probability of rain.

A scatter is possible in the morning, but a better chance of showering comes back later in the morning and in the afternoon.

It will be a mild run with temperatures in the low until the mid-1960s under cloudy sky with a south wind 10-15 miles per hour and isolated gusts up to 20 miles per hour. (May the fourth be with you, Star Wars fans.)

The afternoon highs will be in the low 70s.

The coming week will be the chance of showing and storms on Monday and Tuesday and Thursday and Friday again.

Until the end of next week we may have added several centimeters of rain to the bucket to help our drought and keep things green while the spring role is switched on.
