Former First Lady Michelle Obama said President Donald Trumps The aggressive approach of immigration makes “fear” in people with color in America.

Obama made the comments during a performance with her brother Craig Robinson subsequently of “Purpose with Jay Shetty” on Monday A popular podcast focused on mental health and other problems.

After a conversation about the upbringing of the siblings in Chicago and their experiences with racial discrimination, Shetty asked the former First Lady What was the “hardest recent test” of the fear she experienced because of the color of her skin.

“In this current climate it is for me … what happens to immigrants,” replied Obama. “So it is no longer the fear for me. I drive around with a police escort in a four-member car cooling … my fears are what I know happening out there in the city in the city.”

“We have a guided tour that is indiscriminately defined and who does not, and we know that these decisions are not made with dishes and with proper procedure,” she said.

“And to know that there is so much bias and so much racism and so much ignorance that makes this kind of decisions, I am worried about people with color in this country,” added Obama. “And I don’t know that we will have the supporters to protect everyone. And that makes me – that makes me startled. It keeps me awake at night.”

“I see that when I drive in LA,” she continued. “I just look at the faces of the people … and I wonder how are you? How do you feel at the bus stop?

Obama’s comments came less than a week later publicly about their decision not to take part in Trump’s inauguration. During an episode of her podcast “Imo with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson”, Obama defended her decision and said that she was simply “the choice that was right for her”.

“(M) y decision to make decisions that were assigned to me at the beginning of this year were made with such ridiculousness and criticism,” she said. “People couldn’t believe that for any other reason I said no, they had to assume that my marriage fell apart while I really tried to own my life and intentionally to make the choice that was right for me.”
