Altoona man, who was killed on the boat crash on Smith Lake on Wednesday morning

Cullman County, Ala. (Wbrc) – The authorities have published the name of a man who died on Wednesday morning in a boat accident at Smith Lake while a fishing tournament took place.

Soldiers of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency say that Joey M. Broom from Altoona was killed when the Center Consola, on which it was, was hit by a nitro bass boat. The crash occurred near the Miller Flats in Smith Lake. The broom was 58. Several others were injured.

The Major League Fishing (MLF) confirms that the crash includes angler Flint Davis from Leesburg, Georgia. He was part of the Tackle Warehouse Invitational.

Alea also demands that individuals avoid the immediate crash area, since the investigators continue to process the scene together with other first aiders.

The Following Agencies Responded to the Scene and Are Currently Assisting: The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, Cullman County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), Cullman Countman County Coroner’s Office, Cullman County County Medical Services (EMS), Crane Hill Fire Department, Breman Fire Department, Cold Springs Fire Department, Logan Fire and Rescue, Jones Chapel Fire and Rescue, Alabama Fire Marshal’s Office Along with Troopers with Alea Marine Patrol Division.

Major League Fishing has canceled the tournament, which was to go until Thursday.
