Trump adds the tariff for Canadian steel and aluminum to another 25%

President Donald Trump escalated a trade war with Canada on Tuesday, which imposed a new round of tariffs for steel and aluminum products, threatened additional tasks and repeated a call to Canada to give up his sovereignty and become part of the United States.

Trump announced one day after the retaliation measures in Canada after Ontario had hit the United States’ power against electricity.

The tariffs of these metals are now 50%overall. Trump said in a post about the truth that the increased tariff “came into force tomorrow morning, March 12th”.

The United States imports more steel and aluminum from Canada than in any other country.

Trump also said that he will “explain a national emergency against electricity” in the area affected by the Customs of Canada. He said that the national emergency “would enable the United States to quickly do what has to be done” in order to react to the tariff from Canada without taking any details that the United States may take.

In response, the Ontario Prime Minister sworn to maintain his attitude, and asked Trump to withdraw the tariffs and negotiate a trade agreement.

“The tariffs of President Trump cause chaos. The markets refuel. He has to drop his tariffs and come to the table to negotiate a fair trade agreement. Until he does it, we will not return,” Ford said in a position on X.

Trump’s announcement escalated a trade war between the decrease in last week after the USA imposed 25% tariffs for imports from Canada. In an almost unrestricted reaction, Canada beat a 25% retaliation tariff to goods worth $ 30 billion. The tariffs for additional products worth $ 125 billion will come into force in 21 days, said Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the time

Trudeau criticized the tariffs sharply and called it a “stupid” guideline that does not make a “meaning”.

The Tit-for-Tat measures made a trade war again that had been averted a month earlier when Trump enforced the implementation of tariffs after an agreement with Canada across the border.

At the end of February, Trump claimed that illegal drugs such as Fentanyl had made weeks earlier to solve the problem had continued to occur through Canada.

Since September, almost all fentanyl confiscated by the United States have come through the southern border with Mexico, according to the agency of the US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP). The CBP found less than 1% of the fentanyl on the northern border with Canada.

The reason for the tariffs is based on a false claim about Canada as the main source of drugs that enter the United States, said Trudeau last week.

As part of his announcement on Tuesday, Trump threatened to impose additional retaliation tariffs in Canada if the obligations for US goods exist.

“If other outrageous, long -term tariffs have not dropped by Canada, I will significantly increase the tariffs for cars that come to the USA on April 2.

He also asked Canada to drop her tariffs on dairy farmers, and again claimed that Canada should become America’s 51st state.

“The artificial separation drawn many years ago will finally disappear, and we will have the safest and most beautiful nation all over the world – and their brilliant hymn,” O Canada “, will continue to play, but will now be a large and powerful state in the largest nation that the world has ever seen!” Said Trump in the post.

This is a developing story. Have a look after updates.
