New films streaming

“Mickey 17” (2025)

The first film by Bong Joon-Ho Since 2019 Robert Pattinson has been playing as a “expandable” man-a human guinea pig, whose employer is constantly at risk, and sounds again when he is inevitably based. The film finds the current edition of Mickey on a dangerous journey to colonize an icy planet on which its Polloonic politician of an owner (Mark Ruffalo) wants to start a new master race.

There are shades of Bong’s earlier work in “Mickey 17”; The social stratification and perversity of the ultra-rich remembers both “Parasit” and “Snowpiercer”, while Mickey’s entire existence has shadows of the director’s Netflix film “Okja”. But “Mickey 17” stands alone and offers a snappy, tattered satire that is not afraid of feeling uncomfortable.

“Nonnas” (2025)

This true story of a man (Vince Vaughn) who opens an Italian restaurant with grandmothers (Talia Shire, Lorraine Bracco, Brenda Vaccaro and Susan Sarandon) as chefs. But it is a warm, calming watch that makes her smile and makes you satisfied.

After Joe (Vince Vaughn) had lost both his mother and his grandmother, she needs the substitute family that offer these women, even if the grandmothers – who come from four different Italian cities – have to do with dishes and save almost everything else.

“Raiders of the Lost Ark” (1981)

One of the disadvantages of this column is that all five films and shows have to be “must-see”, which means not to see. I dismissed this evergreen recommendation to see Harrison Ford in the first Indiana Jones film to ask you to keep away from a pale Indiana Jones -afternoon, John Krasinski’s new Apple TV+ film, “The Fountain of Youth”.

As Jim Halpert, Krasinski may be great in “The Office”, but he lacks the boasting and charm that has to be a clever leading man. Maybe it is unfair to keep Krasinski standard at Fords. But when a film tears off as shamelessly “Raiders” as “Fountain of Youth” – while it does not cover a single piece of his magic – he asks the comparison. Regard any Indiana Jones Film in front of “Fountain of Youth” – even with the aliens.

New television programs streaming

“Prost”

In honor of the deceased George Wendt, they take a walk into the past with “cheers”, where the second city veteran did his greatest work. Or when they are pushed for a while, take a look at this supercut of every one-linker he has ever spoken when he entered the bar in which everyone knew his name. (My favorite: “What is Shakin ‘, norm?”

“Sirens”

Julianne Moore and Glenn Hoerton are the biggest names in this WESP-Y secret, but it is a few siblings, played by Milly Alcock and Mass. Native Meghann Fahy, which gives this series a bloody, crackling energy. Fahys Devon travels to the fictional island city of Port Haven via Labor Day Weekend because she believes that her younger sister Simone (Alcock) is in trouble.

Simone works for the wealthy queen bee on the island (Moore), which inspires cultic devotion around them. To say more about this dark comedy would spoil the process, but “sirens” is not their average high company satire.
