Hayward initially committed to Tennessee on July 27, 2024 and held onto that commitment through the 2024 regular season.

He continued to hear from Georgia throughout his engagement, but tweeted on November 13, “I’m not turning back 🍊.”

The recently updated Rivals250 ranked Hayward as the fourth-best commit in Tennessee’s class. He finished behind only five-star David Sanders Jr. and four-stars Da’Saahn Brame and Mariyon Dye.

Tennessee retains commitments from defensive backs Onis Konanbanny, Tre Poteat, Dylan Lewis, Sidney Walton and Tyler Redmond. However, Konanbanny came to visit Florida towards the end of the regular season.

Tennessee still holds a total of 24 commitments in the class. These include one five-star hotel, twelve four-star hotels and 11 three-star hotels.

The Vols’ class is ranked No. 9 in the country and No. 6 in the SEC.
